The main blanket and top and bottom borders are knitted first then stitches are picked up for the side borders which are knitted to match the top and bottom borders.
Full Instructions, with pictures, are given in the pattern for picking up stitches for the borders.

This attractive blanket is suitable for either a boy or girl and, although shown in white would be equally lovely in any colour.

Finished dimensions approx.: 25 x 30 inches (64 x 76 cm).

You will need: DK (Double Knit) weight baby yarn. 
Approx. 825 meters / 925 yards of yarn. This is approx.  5/6 balls of standard DK yarn.
Pair 4mm knitting needles. Circular needles are recommended to accommodate the number of stitches easily.
