Birch reversible baby blanket

Birch baby blanket knitting pattern a fully reversible textured blanket suitable for the beginner knitter.

Only knit and purl stitches make up this great blanket which looks much more complicated than it is.

The pattern is written for DK weight yarn and three sizes of blanket.

Sizes: Small, 20x24 inches / 51x61 cm

Medium: 25x30 inches / 64x76 cm

Large: 30x36 inches / 76x91 cm

You will need approx. 4 [6, 8] Balls as below, OR 640 [960, 1280] meters/ 700 [1049, 1400] yards of your chosen yarn. Any standard DK baby yarn is suitable.

The sample pictured above was knitted with Peter Pan baby DK - 160 meters/ 175 yd to 50g - 55% Nylon, 45% Acrylic.

Tension / Gauge: 22 sts x 32 rows to 10cm / 4 inches in pattern.

Needles: 4mm / US 6 needles.

Or needles which will give you the above tension/gauge. Tension is not crucial in a blanket but if you knit to a different tension your blanket will be a different size and take more or less yarn.

Circular needles of at least 24”/60cm long are recommended.
