These cute booties are based on the Little Duffers slipper pattern but I have adapted and sized the pattern for knitting only, no felting.
Just like the slippers they have a contrast colour garter stitch sole which curls up around the toes. I have a raised these into booties with a 1x1 rib around the ankle for a snug fit and a 1x3 rib turned cuff.
Here I have paired them with a matching baby beanie type hat also in the rib pattern.
All pieces are knitted flat and seamed. The pattern is suitable for any baby DK weight yarn.
Pattern sizes cover:
Booties: 7.5 (8.8, 10) cm / 3 (3 1/2, 4) inch foot lengths
Hat: 35.5 (40, 46) cm / 14 (16, 18) inch circumference
Only a small amount of each colour yarn is needed if knitting the booties only.
This pattern is suitable for the advanced beginner. It has M1 increases and directional decreases including SSSK and SSP. These are not hard to do and everything is listed in the abbreviation section of the pattern.
